Wedding Chapel Accessibility FAQ

Accessibility and Special Accommodations FAQ

Everyone should be able to enjoy the Wedding Ceremony comfortably and feel completely included.

The Cute Little Wedding Chapel is located on the second floor of our Long Beach building, and elevator access is available. We are happy to discuss mobility needs, service animals, seating requests, arrival assistance, and other reasonable accommodations before your appointment.

Tell us what would make the day easier. We cannot help with something we do not know about, and we would much rather plan ahead than improvise while Grandma is waiting in the parking area.

The simple version: The chapel is on the second floor, the building has an elevator, parking is generally available beneath the building, and nearby street parking may also be available. Let us know in advance about mobility, seating, service-animal, communication, or arrival needs so we can help you plan.

Is the Wedding Chapel Wheelchair Accessible?

Yes. The chapel is located on the second floor. The elevator and stairs are located on the front side of the building.

Wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and other mobility aids are welcome. Please tell us in advance if the couple or a guest will use a mobility device so we can prepare the ceremony space and seating arrangement.

The best setup depends on the size of the mobility device, the number of guests, and whether the ceremony will take place in the Indoor Chapel or on the Tropical Terrace.

Where Is the Elevator?

The elevator and stairs are located on the front side of the building and provide access to the second floor, where the Cute Little Wedding Chapel is located.

When you book, let us know if someone will need elevator access or extra assistance finding the chapel. We can provide arrival instructions before the appointment.

Please arrive early enough to use the elevator. Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled ceremony. If someone needs more time because of mobility or another accommodation, let us know in advance.

Is Parking Available?

Free parking is available in the parking lot beneath the building. A designated accessible parking space is also available. Free street parking may be available nearby.

Please allow enough time to park and reach the second floor before the appointment.

If a guest has limited mobility, consider having another person assist with drop-off before parking the vehicle. Contact us before the wedding if you need help planning the easiest arrival route.

Is There an Accessible Restroom?

Yes. An accessible restroom is available on the second floor near the chapel.

Let us know if someone in your group may need extra time before the ceremony so we can help plan the arrival and check-in.

Can Someone Be Dropped Off Near the Building?

A drop-off may make arrival easier for an older guest or someone with limited mobility.

Because traffic, parking conditions, and access around the building can change, contact us before the appointment for the best current instructions.

The driver should never block traffic, an entrance, an elevator area, another vehicle, or an accessible route.

Can You Arrange Special Seating?

Yes. Please tell us in advance if someone needs:

  • A seat close to the entrance or exit
  • Priority seating near the front
  • Extra room for a wheelchair or walker
  • A place to sit without navigating the aisle
  • Space near a family member or caregiver
  • Early seating before the other guests enter

Seating arrangements depend on the ceremony space and guest count, but we will make reasonable adjustments whenever possible.

Please do not move chairs or decorations without checking with our team first. There may be a very good reason that chair is exactly where it is.

May Guests Be Seated Early?

Yes, when arranged in advance and when the chapel schedule allows it.

Early seating can be helpful for older guests, people with limited stamina, guests who use mobility aids, or anyone who needs a little more time.

Another Wedding Ceremony may be taking place before yours, so guests should follow the arrival and check-in instructions provided by our team.

Are Service Animals Welcome?

Yes. Service animals assisting a person with a disability are welcome in the areas where guests are normally permitted.

Service animals do not need to wear a special vest, and we do not require certification paperwork. The handler is responsible for keeping the service animal under control and caring for the animal during the visit.

Advance notice is not required, but letting us know can help us arrange enough space and avoid placing the service animal near decorations, cords, food, or other pets.

Service animal or wedding pet? Service animals have legal access rights. Pets and emotional-support animals are handled under our pet policy and should be approved before the appointment.

Can a Service Animal Be Part of the Ceremony?

Yes. A service animal may remain with its handler throughout the ceremony and photographs.

Tell us how the animal supports the handler and where the handler would like the animal positioned. We can adjust the aisle, standing positions, or seating to create a safer and more comfortable arrangement.

The service animal should remain under the handler's control and should not be asked to perform a decorative wedding role that interferes with its trained work.

Can We Request Other Accommodations?

Yes. Every person and every situation is different, so please tell us what you need.

Mobility

Extra arrival time, early seating, wheelchair space, a shorter walking route, or adjusted standing positions.

Hearing

Seating closer to the Wedding Officiant, slower and clearer delivery, printed ceremony wording, or another requested communication adjustment.

Sensory Needs

Reduced music volume, fewer decorative lights, a simplified ceremony, shorter waiting time, or a quieter arrival plan when possible.

Standing or Sitting

The couple may sit during part or all of the Wedding Ceremony, and the ceremony wording can be adjusted accordingly.

Can the Couple Sit During the Wedding Ceremony?

Absolutely. There is no rule requiring either person to stand throughout the ceremony.

One or both people may sit, use a wheelchair, lean on a mobility aid, or change positions during the ceremony. The Wedding Officiant can adapt the entrance, vows, ring exchange, first kiss, and pronouncement.

The ceremony should fit the couple. The couple should never have to struggle to fit the ceremony.

Can We Have a Shorter Ceremony?

Yes. A shorter ceremony may be helpful for someone who cannot stand or sit comfortably for an extended period, becomes fatigued easily, or has sensory or medical needs.

We can create a simple, legal, meaningful ceremony that includes the required elements without unnecessary length.

Short does not mean unimportant. Sometimes the most meaningful words are the ones that get directly to “I do.”

How Should We Request an Accommodation?

Include the request when completing the availability form, or contact our office before the appointment.

You do not need to provide private medical details. Tell us what assistance or adjustment would be helpful, who needs it, and whether it affects arrival time, seating, ceremony length, movement, sound, lighting, or another part of the experience.

We will review the request and explain what we can arrange within the chapel, building, package, and appointment schedule.
